Back to the origins of the Blues
The story of the Blues began in the plantations of the the deep south where adversity, cruelty and hardship was a daily staple for african-american slaves and despair was their next door neighbour.
While obedience was mandatory, surrender was not an option. Locked away in the privacy of the human spirit was a growing resistance. This resistence expressed itself through the music of the chain gangs, a way of fighting back through music and the sound of that human spirit that yearned for freedom and for hope. Thus the Blues was born.
